Chapter 8 — Time to Die — 007 First Light Walkthrough

Overview

The Pearl Resort is the most Hitman-like environment in the game: a luxury Vietnam spa with a public pool, multiple villas (Hung Villa, connected to Ramon Hernandez), Serenity Space, Theresa Lorca’s quarters, and a final quarry / cliffside chase. Bond infiltrates as a guest, plants trackers on a group of Webb-linked targets, and shares the chapter’s romantic beats with Charlotte Roth — who presents here as a French DGSE operative.

It’s also the chapter where Greenway dies.

Spoiler note: Greenway’s death is scripted. Damien falls off a building during the climactic chase and appears to die — but he survives. The chapter ends with Bond emotionally shattered and the personal motivation that drives the final two missions in place.

Objectives (in order)

  1. Arrive at the Pearl Resort, infiltrate as a guest.
  2. Locate the three Webb-linked targets.
  3. Obtain the Yoga disguise — clue note in a side room near Hung Villa.
  4. Pool Inspector route: stone stair → grassy side path → ledge climb → outside platform → Serenity Space via alternate access.
  5. Plant tracker on Theresa Lorca + grab her Keynote Presentation intel.
  6. Hung Villa upper floor (after talking to Ramon Hernandez) — Tarot Deck and Under of Bells.
  7. Suit-up sequence — Caliban Profile intel.
  8. Free yourself from handcuffs — Riptide gun-case intel.
  9. Track Damien — final chase + quarry shootout with Greenway.
  10. Two Birds, One Stone: Q-Lens a crane → Greenway shoots it → ~4 enemies killed in one drop.
  11. Steal three of Greenway’s kills during the shootout (Focus → headshot before he does).
  12. Climactic Damien confrontation — collapsing buildings, jungle firefight, rooftop escape, knife combat.
  13. Greenway dies. Damien falls but escapes.

Walkthrough (key beats)

Move slowly. The villa patrol rotations are wider than they look. Rushing kills several optional challenges permanently. Time to Die has the most missable content in the game — leaving a villa section before exploring fully cuts off objectives that don’t come back.

Yoga disguise — master key. The clue note in the side room near Hung Villa unlocks the Yoga disguise, which is the master key for restricted areas. Read the note before approaching Hung Villa or you’ll get spotted instantly.

Pool Inspector route. Bypasses Serenity Space reception entirely. Stone stair → grassy side path → ledge climb → outside platform → in through alternate access. Use this for the Theresa Lorca approach if you don’t have a clean Bluff window.

Hung Villa upper floor. Speak to Ramon Hernandez first, then loop the upper floor. The Tarot Deck and the Under of Bells card are both up there.

Quarry shootout. Two Birds, One Stone — Q-Lens highlights the crane, Greenway snipes it, the drop kills roughly four enemies and resets the enemy count. Use this early. For Who’s Counting? you need more kills than Greenway in the same shootout; don’t scope, pop headshots immediately. He’s fast.

The end. You cannot save Greenway. His death is scripted. Use his last sequence as a difficulty cushion — he tanks attention while you clean up any final missed challenges.

Gadget loadout

Heavy emphasis on disguises + social stealth — the resort is the most “Hitman” of any chapter. Q-Lens for crane / hazard highlighting in the quarry. Standard gadget loadout still works; bring Smoke Pod for the final shootout.

  • Move slowly. Missable content is everywhere.

  • Pool Inspector bypasses Serenity Space reception. Use it.
