Laser Strap (Q-Watch attachment) — 007 First Light Gadget Guide
A laser attachment for the Omega Q-Watch installed mid-story at Q-Branch. Functionally a jack-of-all-trades — utility, stealth, and combat support in one button.
What it does
- Cuts ropes / chandelier wires / hanging objects
- Slices padlocks and lockboxes silently
- Blinds enemies in and out of combat (shorter stun than Dart Phone)
- Slices metal barrels
- Electric stun combo — push or throw an enemy into exposed laptops or wires, then laser them for an instant stun burst
Unlock
Mission 4: The Past Never Dies at Aleph (Mauritania). The Q-Branch schematic that enables the modification is hidden earlier in the campaign — typically a restroom stall during an early mission. Easy to miss if you rush objectives.
Resource and heat management
Draws from the Battery pool and runs a heat gauge. Hold the beam too long and the whole Q-Watch shuts down — no laser, no hacking, no electronic disruption until cooldown.
Rules:
- 1-2 second bursts for cutting wires and padlocks
- Tap, don’t hold for blinds in combat
- Cool the watch between encounters
Tips
- Several collectibles in The Past Never Dies require the Laser Strap. Equip it before re-entering the chapter for cleanup.
- The wire-cut + chandelier drop is one of the most satisfying environmental KOs in the game.
- Laser + exposed electronics is signature First Light combat. Plan the angle, push the enemy in, fire.
