Dr. Selina Tan — 007 First Light Character Guide

Who she is

Dr. Selina Tan runs TacSim — the Tactical Simulation department inside MI6 that doubles as the game’s endgame mode. In-fiction she is the architect of the high-tech mission-replay system that lets Bond rehearse, rerun and score every operation he undertakes. Gemma Chan provides voice and likeness.

Story role

Tan is introduced once the player completes Chapter 1: The Needle’s Eye and gains access to TacSim. She runs the brief on the first two Escalations — Iceland (Advanced Tactical Training) and Malta (Advanced Close Combat Training) — both of which unlock immediately as extended tutorials.

After the main campaign ends, every remaining TacSim Escalation and every Operation opens up under her supervision. She is the character who runs Clearance Level progression, awards Intel currency, and manages the in-mode shop.

• Operations — single-tier missions added after the campaign.
• Mini-tasks — 7-10 challenges per mission.

• Online — TacSim is the only mode in the game that requires an internet connection (for leaderboards).

The Gold trophy The readiness is all is awarded for beating Tier 3 of any Escalation under her supervision.

• IO Interactive has confirmed post-launch TacSim content updates — including race-track content built around the Aston Martin Valhalla.
• The Missile Pen is gated behind Clearance Level 15 in TacSim, making it one of the longest unlock chains in the game.
• The “Collectibles Wall” inside the TacSim hub is the location where the Legacy of Spycraft trophy is forced to pop if it gets stuck on online sync.
